MPE MIDI 2.0 Anyone?

MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE). Anyone use it? I have some guitar synth stuff that uses it, mostly in Pigments, a synth we also haven't talked about much. For me it is really the only interesting thing in MIDI 2.0 spec.

Guitar hexaphonic pickups – used to drive thousands of crappy "look it sounds just like a ..." demoes – have had it for decades. Guitarists (I.e, my ilk) are for the most part super unimaginative in using MIDI guitar, but it has a lot of potential. So much of MPE was already part of the guitar synth world of possibilities decades ago b/c you can set the pickup to get interpreted as six different independent channels, even putting each on its own synth like this here. Not the greatest tune, but hey you try playing six separate synths at once on yer six keyboards before MPE .

Anyway, my favorite outfit that uses it a lot now is Magdalena Bay, for example, "Image":
